Sorry I've been MIA

Things have been quite busy in my household over the past few weeks, hence the lack of posts. Hopefully all these pictures will make up for some of that. My Mommy's birthday was on the 16th (she is an old lady- or at least thats what Mama says!). We were supposed to fly to Orlando on her birthday to meet up with Mama who was down there for a conference- well after driving to the airport and waiting in line we got up to the ticket agent only to find out that all flights for the evening were cancelled. We managed to get on a plane the next day (I won't go into the horrid details of how that happened, and how Southwest ticket agents were not helpful at all, but how their gate agents were very nice and helpful, but just know that Mommy and I survived- I was a champ the whole time and actually slept on the plane on the way down). In Orlando we hung out with some of Mama's work friends and then we got to spend some time with Aunt Kallie and go to Disney World! Enjoy the pictures- I'm getting to be such a big boy!

Coloring (alternating with eating my crayon) at breakfast.

The next King Arthur?

Controlling the Dumbo ride- who knew flying elephants were such fun!

A fun house just my size

Aunt Kallie and I (unfortunately for the picture taking, the jumping water fountains were much more interesting than the camera)

On the Carousel

Fun times in the hotel- I actually opened this drawer, climbed in and laid down in it, but my mommies weren't quick enough to catch it with the camera

Ollie

When my Mommy was little one of her favorite toys was Ollie- my aunt and all my uncles rode on Ollie until (as family legend goes) my Uncles Ross and Scott broke him. Well, Mommy found an Ollie for me on ebay and it arrived today- just in time for extra daylight and 70 degree weather!

Feeling better

Well, things are finally looking up here in my little house. I did manage to get Mommy sick, and she was out of commission yesterday and today, but seems as though she is feeling better now- she sang my favorite songs "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Row Row Row your Boat" over and over and over with me. Below are some pictures of me using a spoon- sometimes I forget which is the right end...

sick :(

Just a post to say that I've been out of commission for the past few days- stomach bug- AGAIN. My moms knew I was trouble when I had poop in my armpits and on my socks at the same time. I got them really good though on Monday- everyone was all dressed and ready to leave the house, Mama picked me up and... SPLAT- vomit allllll over her. They couldn't get too mad at me though because I am so cute, and my fever was up to 103.1 that day so they knew I wasn't faking. [JUMP TO FULL POST]

It is a gorgeous snowy day here- I thought I would share some short films (starring moi of course!) in honor of the Oscars tonight. Enjoy!

1. Just some footage of me walkin' around and torturing the poor dog.

2. Enjoying an unusually warm winter day at the park.

3. Riding my Retro Rocket- fun!

Quick Update for President's Day

So I'm walking almost all the time (rarely resort to crawling anymore) and I'm climbing all over things too. not sure I picked the best time to start walking "full-time" as it's still cold and icy here, which means lots of slipping and sliding, even when holding a mom's hand. Walking also means I have two free hands to grab stuff. Usually stuff I'm not supposed to grab. And/or the dog. Poor dog.

Mama and I both had off today, and we went shopping. Shopping at places that don't have shopping carts. Which meant walking and using those two free hands to knock things off of shelves, shake a magazine rack, etc. My mama seemed thrilled! Hey, at least I didn't shave my head like that pop-star-who-will-shall-not-be-named.

In addition to walking, I'm working on the talking. I can say a bunch of words - hi, bye, cady, lewis, shoe, up, thank you, woof woof, uh oh, and pillow. I can sign some too- more, please, food, all done (as you can tell, I'll do pretty much anything if it gets me something to eat). I can also pull out the step stool from under the sink, climb up on it, stand at the sink, and brush my teeth (really!). I can turn light switches on and off. And open doors. I'm getting closer to being able to use a spoon, but do my best work with finger foods.

I got to check out how my friends were developing this weekend when we went to my buddy Owen's first birthday party. He seemed a little overwhelmed and not sure what to do with the cake (unlike me, who cried when I finished my piece and mommy wouldn't give me more). But he's getting so big. They say we all are. But it was fun to see him and other kids that I used to hang with when I was just a baby. Like 6 months ago.

Please Wont You Be...

Uncle Mike and Uncle Dennis are staying with us tonight (us being me and mama, as tonight is also my first night away from mommy) because as of tomorrow they will be our new neighbors!! They found a house a few blocks away, and are moving in tomorrow. Even though they only live 15 minutes away now, it will be so much fun to have them even closer! [JUMP TO FULL POST]

Toys!

Now that I've had about a month to play with my Birthday and Christmas toys, I thought I would give a few recommendations for some of my favorites.

I received several stacking toys, and I love them all- putting the cups inside each other, stacking them on top of each other, knocking down towers that my mommies have stacked- fun, fun, fun!

I love music and noise, but especially music and bopping around to different songs- this piano gives me lots of options.

My mommies had never even heard of the Backyardigans or Mountie Tyrone before I got this present, but this little guy has some great songs and can cheer me up even when I am in the midst of a fit! (Unfortunately for my mommies I like to make the song play over and over and over)

This trike is perfect for me, because I am too little to pedal yet, but my mommies can push me alllll over the place and I love it!

This one was actually a present for Mommy from Mama, but pretty much I am the ultimate beneficiary (exactly how it should be!)

snow!

Just so you know- I really enjoy the sound of frozen snow (you know the kind- snow with a layer of ice on top) underneath my feet. It took quite some time to get out to the car this morning because I was having a blast stomping my feet and making that satisfying cracking sound as the layer of ice broke. I am quite the little walker these days- I still prefer to hold onto a finger, pants leg, bag, whatever (but when no one is looking I practice walking on my own). Sometimes, I HAVE to walk, because otherwise I would have to put down a toy (and CLEARLY that is not going to happen) :) [JUMP TO FULL POST]

NEW FRIENDS!

My new friends Theo and Ellie were born. They were born yesterday, one minute apart, and weighed over 6 lbs each (their mom is a saint, I tell ya, a saint). Aren't they cutie pies?
Twin congratulations to my friend Henry (on being a new big brother) and his mom and dad.

Last weekend

Okay, so my moms are a little behind in their posting, but here are some pics from last weekend- the weather was 70 degrees (in January!) so we went to the park on Saturday, and then my Mommy and Uncle Dennis took me to the Aquarium on Sunday. I LOVED the big fish tanks and walking along the railing and the rainforest, but the dolphin show SCARED me- what were those big fish doing in that perfectly nice swim tank?

My Mommy went to Connecticut College- so OF COURSE I had to ride on the Camel!

The swings (my favorite!)

BEFORE the scary dolphins

Yep, just saw them doing tricks- no animal should be that smart

What is more cute- the towel animal or me?
Just relaxing
Enjoying the view
The dreaded muster drill costume- I did manage a smile for a minute though [JUMP TO FULL POST]

12 month Doctors visit

For those of you keeping track here are my stats from my 12 month visit to the Doctor:

Height: 30 1/2 inches (about 75th percentile)
Weight: 26.2 pounds (about 90-95th percentile)
Head Circumfrence: 48 1/2 cm (about 90-95h percentile)

I got 4, count them.... 4 shots AND a finger stick. I did not cry for the finger stick- AT ALL!!! And I only whimpered after the 1st shot. I did cry for the last three, but was fine as soon as Mommy picked me up and let me turn on and off the light switch. So I am growing well, and the Dr. was very impressed with my excellent personality, I especially enjoyed sucking on her stethoscope, and playing the funny light she used to look in my ears, nose and mouth. More Christmas 2006

We had a whirlwind Christmas, but didn't have to go far for the actual holiday... we went to church/the christmas pageant (where Mama made Mommy walk to and from church, even though it was cold and Mommy was wearing not-so-comfortable shoes). Then Nonna and Rick came over for dinner and pre-presents. Nonna stayed over and in the morning we did stockings, presents, and tea and bagels. I thoroughly enjoyed the wrapping paper and "helping" others open their gifts.

In the afternoon we headed to Nonnas and got o open *more* presents and *more* stockings. (my moms keep mentioning "rotating" my toys- the horror! They were meant to take over the entire living room, Moms, can't you see that?) Then it was early to bed and early to rise for our Cruise! We went on a Disney cruise with Nonna, Rick, RJ, Sean, Auntie Hillary and Auntie Emily. It was so much fun, even though I did not get to go to the spa or get a beach massage like my moms. And even though I'm not quite ready to totally love a giant mouse with 4 fingers on each hand. It was alot of Disney, but the ship was beautiful, well-kept, and they served things like Mango-Papaya Soup for dinner, which I love, and ice cream, which my moms let me have nibbles of now that I am ONE YEAR OLD. The one thing I did not like was the "muster drill" where they make you dress up in a funny looking costume, called a life jacket, and stand in a line. My lifejacket looked more garish than anyone else's, apparently because I am less than 30 pounds. the nerve. [JUMP TO FULL POST]
