potty training part I

My mommies have introduced me to something called a potty. They say they are not actually trying to potty train me quite yet, but they are trying to introduce me to the concept. So they bought me the The First Years - 3-in-1 Toilet Training System. Not sure if we are going to keep it yet, even though when I sat down on it I did pee!!!! Because the pee didn't exactly go into the potty. Is that supposed to be part of the process? [JUMP TO FULL POST]

"Allie! Allie!"

My Aunt Kallie came to visit last week. I had tons of fun playing with her, and now run around the house looking for her and shouting her name... Allie :) [JUMP TO FULL POST]

some of my favorite things

I know that I have been a little lax in posting recently, I have been taking care of Mama and making sure that she doesn't do too much. I promise some cute new pictures soon. In the mean time just an update of what I've been up to. I love to read, and right now my favorite book is Good Night Gorilla. We read it EVERY night, sometimes during the day too. I always pick it off my shelf. I also love to blow bubbles. My Mommy got me the No Spill Big Bubble Bucket. I love to chase and pop the bubbles and I try to blow them myself also. I am also very insistant that I be allowed to feed myself with utensils. No matter how messy the item is. Today for instance I really wanted to feed myself yogurt. Yogurt is messy when an 18 month old gets his hands on it. My moms got me some a Travel Case with Fork & Spoon - Green in Blue so that can join in when we dine out. [JUMP TO FULL POST]

Happy Belated 18 month Birthday to Me!

Yup- I'm the big one-and-a-half years old. I celebrated the big day by having dinner with my parents and my godparents. Aunt Kallie came to visit from Florida, and Uncle Mike and Dennis came back from their trip to Canada. I spent some time in my pool, and we had strawberry shortcake for dessert. A great day!!! The Secret's Out

So yeah- Ms. Sarah guessed it. My Mama is PREGNANT!!! We haven't posted much about it here because, well, hey, this site is about ME! Not some "little brother" or other that they keep talking about. Also, it hasn't necessarily been the easiest pregnancy. Poor Mama - she just got out of surgery - she had to have a cerclage on Friday. She's still recovering, and we're all a little scared. She's a little over 21 weeks, due mid-october or so, and hoping to make it that far!!! But she's doing well right now, and hopefully the rest of the pregnancy will go smoothly and I will have a younger brother to torment in the fall. [JUMP TO FULL POST]

The premiere Honeymoon destination

One of my Mama's goals was to travel to 30 countries by the time she was, well, old, and although she seems pretty old already to me, we made her goal when we travelled to Canada this weekend and visited Niagara Falls. We had a blast and encourage anyone who is travelling to the region to check out the Niagara Parks Adventure Pass - it was a great deal and let us see all the attractions on our own schedule (which was especially good since Mama had to rest A LOT).

Mama and I in front of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls

I'm pretty sure I am the cutest passenger ever on the Maid of the Mist (Nonna looks pretty good too)

My moms and Nonna took me to Bird Kingdom, which was excellent, because I am currently fascinated with birds, even the big scary Macaws that squawked at me.

Okay, tell me that you have seen cuter pictures than the ones above?

On the way home I relaxed a little in the Buffalo airport and tried to convince my moms to buy me a Mustang. Mommy says that when she gets a Mustang I can get one too...

A belated post for Blogging for LGBT Families Day

Well here in the GusBus household we missed Blogging for LGBT Families Day, so we're just catching up now. We were in Niagara Falls, Ontario for Mama's birthday weekend and just returned today. Pictures will be posted shortly :) Regarding LGBT families, I think that I'm a pretty lucky little guy to have two Moms. I call both of them Mama right now, and thats fine with them. For the most part my family is treated well where we live and both my moms are seen as equal parents. Things do occasionally happen though that make me sad. For example, today when we were returning flying home we were in the Buffalo, NY airport flying Southwest. My moms and my Nonna and I were in the pre-board line waiting to get on the plane (this was my 22nd flight can you believe it?) and the gate attendant came over to my family and asked who was preboarding. My Mommy said we all were. The gate attendant said only Mom and Dad can preboard, and Mommy said well we are both moms- pointing to Mama and herself. The gate attendant said, "Only the baby's Mom can preboard." ?!?!? Mommy had to further clarify what "WE ARE BOTH MOMS" meant by saying- We are both HIS moms. UGH. And to top it all off, poor Nonna still couldn't come with us. The gate attendant then went to all the other families in line behind us and said, "Only Mom and Dad can board." Not changing her language at all, even after talking with us. So, while things are mostly good for such a cute little guy, I think that a lot of improvement is needed still regarding the status of my family. [JUMP TO FULL POST]
