More R Family Cruise Pictures: Cabo San Lucas

Our first Port of Call was Cabo San Lucas- we chartered a sailboat for "whale watching" with two other families. The sailboat was great, although the weather was not cooperative... it was a bit windy (though sunny), which meant we couldn't go far out to really look for the whales. We did see at least one from far away, though, and we got a great tour/view of the area. And the kids slept through most of it!





These are pics from the sailboat, the dock, and the tender- details on the charter after the jump. The sailboat was the Yael, chartered through Cabo Sail : they were great- for a little over $50 per adult, half price for kids over 4, and free for the toddlers/infants, it included a three hour sail, lunch, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks. There is a marine head on board and they even had blankets on hand for when it got windy. They also had snorkeling equipment and would have included a snorkeling stop if we had requested it (it wasn't quite the right weather). There were 11 adults, 2 children, 2 toddlers, and Baby Clay, and there was plenty of room on the boat. One more family may have fit, but it was nice to have some room to move around. We made our arrangements online through Gil, and he was very helpful- they even picked us up right at the tender dock.

After the sail, we walked around the marina area, which was nice (restaurants, shops, etc), but exclusively touristy. We had lunch on the boat, but there looked to be a number of places to sit and eat overlooking the water. We did end up at Senor Sweets to use the bathroom, and of course had to stay for the gelato sandwiches on giant cookies. Not really mexican cuisine, but very yummy!
