Happy Pride

We took the metro downtown to the Pride street festival- we ran into Elsie and her moms there, and Gus had a great time getting covered with stickers! [JUMP TO FULL POST]

Happy Birthday Mama

We recently celebrated mama's birthday- first with Nonna at her house, and then at Rosa Mexicana, where Gus got to make guacamole tableside! [JUMP TO FULL POST]

Cock-a-Doodle Zoo

Cock-a-doodle-zoo means getting to the zoo before 8am for a special visit when they open the zoo early for members and give out donuts. We saw them feed the meerkats, give the tigers a blood popsicle, and try to feed an alligator. Gus's favorite part was the water misters. [JUMP TO FULL POST]

strawberry picking

A couple of weeks ago, we went strawberry picking. Gus picked and ate, Clay ate the straw, and then Mama turned strawberries and a whole bunch of sugar into some jam. [JUMP TO FULL POST]

The Boys- 29 months and months

We went strawberry picking today- more pics to follow when I remove them from the camera.

But a quick update on what the boys are up to these days:

  • Gus is obsessed with baseball and basebaw plawyers. We got him a nerfy type bat today and he spent the entire ride home cuddling it, then falling asleep. He even delayed leaving for *music class* (his absolute fav) to try to hit some more. For Clay's health and well being, we've instituted an "outside only" rule for the bat.
  • Gus's food preferences change from day to day- the kid who normally will not eat meat or vegetables, subsisting almost entirely on carbohydrates, cheese, yogurt, and fruit, marched into the kitchen between meals and announced he wanted vegetables. Not any specific kind, just vegetables. So we threw some frozen carrots, peas, and corn into an alphabet cookie tray and he. ate. them.
  • Clay can get around. I can't really say crawl, but he can get to wherever he wants to go to get whatever he wants to get. Basically he gets up on his hands and knees like he's going to crawl, and then he shuffles just his knees forward until he gets a body-length away from where he wants to be, then flops on the ground with an arm outstretched. He can really cover some territory this way, and get lots of things to put in his mouth!
