9 weeks old and already social security problems

That is what I think of the Social Security Administration- specifically the local office my mommy and I went to this morning. This was our second trip to Social Security to try to get a number for me. The hospital messed up my paperwork when I was born and sent all my info to vital records with the wrong last name and wrong address. So now I am in the Social Security system with the wrong last name, and my birth certificate (with my correct name) is not enough proof of my identity- actually the 1st time we went the SS man told my mommy that the birth certificate was only proof that I was born not proof that I was still alive... Today they told my mommy that 1) the reason the hospital got my name wrong was because my mommy was not married at the time of my birth, and 2) they will need paperwork showing why my name changed- the only problem is - I DIDN'T CHANGE MY NAME!!! I am learning the pains of bureaucracy so young :( [JUMP TO FULL POST]

Did you miss me?

This weekend, my mommies and I went to Western Maryland for 2 nights. They went skiing, and I hung out with my grandmother, who I have decided to call Voldemort, because she does not know what she shall be named.... We had a great time, and I slept all the way there and all the way back. Thanks to RJ for helping watch me, and to Yoo Mi for taking care of my animal friends while I was away. I dont look particularly happy in these pictures, but I think it was because it was right before we had to leave to come back home.

The weekend was much better than today. Today I had my 2 month doctor's appointment. For anyone who doesn't remember what it was like to be 2 months or who doesnt remember when their kids were 2 months, let me remind you. 2 months = shots. Lots and lots of painful, yucky, icky shots. Which I didn't like. At all. But they do say I am doing well, growing and other than a little excema and some acid reflux, I am perfect.

For those keeping track of my stats:

- I now weigh 12 pounds 8 ounces. So I'm really in the 3-6 month clothes (1 month early) and have officially outgrown my newborn stuff. This is the 75 percentile for a boy my age.

- My height is 23 and 1/2 inches (almost 2 feet!). This is also the 75th percentile.

- My head circumference is 16 inches. This too is the 75th percentile, meaning I am both consistent and proportional.

I feel pretty sad and tired right now, so I'm going to post a picture from last week showing me in my pre-vaccinated glory. You know, back when I was young and the world was a happy, needle-free place... [JUMP TO FULL POST]

weekend update

I had a very exciting weekend!

On Saturday Auntie Emily and Auntie Hillary (college friends of Mama's) came to visit.

Then on Saturday afternoon it started to snow and snow and snow

We lost power and our house got very cold, so my mommies bundled me up and we went over to Uncle Mike and Uncle Dennis's house until the power came back on.

They're back from Disney. In celebration, I wore my red white and blue outfit and we watched the Olympic opening ceremonies together . . . but better than that- they brought me some Mickey ears!!!!

My Grandmother who still has yet to be named visited me today and comforted me when I was fussy- it was nice to have her carry me around. I also got lots of presents today - a polar bear from my Mommy's Aunt Gisele and a cute star blanket from my Mommy's Aunt Brita and Uncle Uli in Germany. My Mommy's name change also came through so now we all have the same last name!  [JUMP TO FULL POST]

Look at me- I am having a great day- I slept in the cradle that my friends Laurel, Charles, Charlotte and Alex gave me. I made sure that my Mommy kept the cradle rocking, because you know how I like to be moving, but you can see how I am snoring away. [JUMP TO FULL POST]

This morning Mommy and I went shopping, because I am already outgrowing my newborn clothes! I did great and didn't even fuss when my diaper got changed.
